Liverpool 2-1 Fulham: Player Ratings

© IMAGO

Here are our player ratings as Liverpool beat Fulham 2-1 at Anfield in the Carabao Cup. The Reds managed to turn this one around.

Caoimhin Kelleher: 5

Did everything well enough but for the goal. Another where it felt Kelleher was a non-entity as Willian's strike just flew past him through the middle of the goal.

Conor Bradley: 8

Bonus points for taking on such a tough task here. But won five tackles (most for Liverpool vs Fulham, per Whoscored), solid passing and was incredibly unfortunate not to get an assist at the death for Nunez. A real talent.

Ibrahima Konaté: 8

Konaté was really solid here and his pace proved to be a real problem for Fulham. Covered Bradley very well, too, and passed confidently. Turning into a really strong run of form now.

Virgil van Dijk: 5

Probably the lowest score you'll see for the captain all season. He made a big mistake on Fulham's opener, though, and gave away some silly free kicks throughout - though, the opponents were searching for them. The rarest of rares this season - an off day.

Joe Gomez: 7

A very solid left-back, as it turns out. There's no question that Gomez is capable of delivering in the role. Even when he's not sensational, he's still good enough to be productive.

Alexis Mac Allister: 7

What we've come to expect from Mac Allister in that holding midfield role. He won some tackles, passed the ball well, and got forward when he could. No, things aren't as solid as with Wataru Endo there but he does keep Liverpool ticking over well.

Ryan Gravenberch: 4

Not a good game. Gravenberch played a little over 45 minutes here and the stat doing the rounds at halftime was that he'd lost 10 of 11 duels. Did have a couple of bright moments before going off - and was a little unlucky not to score - but not a good day.

Curtis Jones: 8

Great throughout, kept the ball wonderfully, and grabbed the equaliser. A heavy deflection, of course, but Jones made it happen and was probably the most consistent Liverpool player on the night. One of the first names on the teamsheet right now.

Harvey Elliott: 6

A difficult game to judge from Elliott as his teammates just didn't find him enough. There must have been three or four times in the first half that he made a run in behind and saw it ignored. All in all, he didn't effect the game as much as he'd have liked to.

Diogo Jota: 7

Things happen around Diogo Jota. Essentially forced the first goal to happen by battling through midfield, challenge after challenge. Even without a goal today, the forward found a way to be decisive. Shooting was a little off but didn't matter in the end.

Luis Diaz: 6

Decent enough with the ball at his feet and heavily involved - but virtually nothing came off. Turned into an average game with little to discuss, honestly

Subs

Darwin Nunez: 9

What a cameo that was. Nunez comes on with Liverpool 1-0 down to Fulham, picks up two assists (the second of which was fantastic) and Liverpool win the game. Nearly scored with a header and close-range volley, only for Bernd Leno to save well twice. He's brilliant. What a player.

Cody Gakpo: 8

Like Nunez, Gakpo helped change the game. Scored soon after coming on, essentially winning the game. A goal in every round, still.
