Liverpool have reportedly got a massive shortlist for the summer transfer window.

Many areas among the Reds' ranks need upgrading and, unless they manage to do that soon, they could end up facing the same problems they did during the 2025-26 campaign.

This would be far from ideal as it would mean that they could miss out on Champions League qualification and end up even further away from the Premier League title race than they currently find themselves.

That's why it feels rather good to know that the deal for Victor Munoz has already been completed as it gives the club one less thing to worry about.

Although Richard Hughes and Andoni Iraola's shortlist is huge, there are some key targets who they want to bring to Anfield this summer and, luckily for them, it's now clear that one of them definitely wants a Liverpool move.

Yan Diomande's camp are frustrated by how long his Liverpool move is taking

For the longest time now, Yan Diomande has been on top of Liverpool's priority list.

The Ivorian has been in stellar form for RB Leipzig this term as he's contributed to over 20 goals across all competitions despite being just 19 years old.

And, his recent performance in the 2026 World Cup have only further proved how good he actually is.

As mentioned, Liverpool have been the main team linked with him but, since Leipzig are staying firm with their price tag, the deal is taking a while to complete.

These things obviously take time but, a fresh report from Lewis Steele may have just proven how ready Diomande actually is to make the switch.

"I think there’s a little bit of frustration on the player’s side from what I’ve heard that it’s maybe taking a little bit longer than some people may have anticipated," he said.

"I’m talking about his camp.

"Maybe they thought it was going to go a bit quicker, but now they’re sort of resigned to the fact it might drag on after the World Cup, but they accept it.

"But also, you never know. Liverpool could just pull their finger out, and it’d be done in the next day or two."

Liverpool surely have to complete their deal for Diomande over the next couple of weeks

If the World Cup wasn't on this summer, the amount of time it has taken to complete this transfer would be concerning.

Since Christmas it has been shared that Liverpool see Diomande as their perfect successor to Mohamed Salah.

Other options such as Yankuba Minteh have also been mentioned but, none of them compare to the quality that the Ivorian has.

His electric pace, couple with his wizard-like ability to beat his man is second to none and the fact that he can actually finish is an added bonus.

If the Reds are serious about acquiring Diomande's services, they need to get a deal done soon.

Of course, the main thing on the Ivorian's mind will be the World Cup but, since clubs are already confirming deals for players, there's no reason why an advancement in talks can't be made.

Here's hoping that, over the next few weeks Hughes and Iraola get things rolling and confirm his move.
