Goalscorer teases Liverpool transfer after PHENOMENAL start to season
One of the best-performing players in Europe has teased a transfer to Liverpool. The Reds might want to pay attention here.
Liverpool undoubtedly learned over the summer that they're one of the places to be in world football right now. That hasn't been the case all that often - the Reds rarely shop at the absolute top table.
But Florian Wirtz showed the world that moving to Liverpool was something elite players want to do as he rejected Bayern Munich and Manchester City to head to Anfield. Alexander Isak forced his way there against Newcastle United's wishes.
Players all over Europe view Liverpool as somewhere they can fulfil their potential. And that's certainly been the case - the likes of Ryan Gravenberch have transformed their reputations after joining.
And so perhaps it shouldn't be much of a surprise that Liverpool have been name-dropped by one of the best-performing players in European football right now. But will they get a deal done?
Christos Tzolis name-drops Liverpool
Club Brugge star Christos Tzolis has been talking about his future after an electric start to the campaign. The Greek international has scored seven and assisted another nine in the Belgian Pro League - he's averaging just shy of a goal or assist per 90 minutes in league football right now.
Importantly, he's doing it after 16 goals and nine assists last season, too. Tzolis has been in fantastic form for a while now and there's an expectation that the 23-year-old could make a big transfer soon.
Tzolis has been speaking to Het Nieuwsblad, per Sport Witness. He discussed his future and while he doesn't want to immediately leave Brugge, interest from a club like Liverpool would change everything.
"I’m not aware of any concrete interest at the moment, so I’m not even considering it. Maybe you know more than I do!” he said.
“I’d like to win the title here first. Although you never know, so I can’t say with 100% certainty that I’ll stay this winter.
"If a crazy team comes along, like Barcelona, Liverpool… Anyway, you know what I mean. But I don’t think that will happen in the winter.”
And it's not entirely out of the question that Liverpool get involved. Tzolis had a trial with the Reds back when he was a teenager and will have remained on their radar.
If his form continues, don't be shocked to see the club move back for him. He's certainly open to it...
