Fabrizio Romano confirms Liverpool are ready to complete 'immediate' £30m signing

Fabrizio Romano has moved to confirm Liverpool's intention to complete an immediate £30m transfer. There's under a week to complete the deal.

Liverpool are now up against the clock to complete the rest of their transfers. And there's plenty to get through, too.

For one, Liverpool want to complete a deal for Alexander Isak. That's unquestionably 'the big one' - and has been since the start of the year.

The Reds believe Isak is the ultimate answer to their centre-forward question. The only trouble is that Newcastle United are rapidly realising that he's the only answer to theirs, no matter how much money Liverpool offer.

Isak, then, is waiting to leave Newcastle, completely away from the team and with hope that they'll find a replacement for him. That continues to look unlikely, mind.

But the Swede isn't Liverpool's only target in these final few days.

Liverpool up Marc Guehi chase

Liverpool do want Marc Guehi, who is now in the final year of his contract at Crystal Palace. The Reds hope to snap the defender up for a cut-price fee and Palace are willing sellers.

They've admitted that already. Chairman Steve Parish has openly said that they want to sell as it makes little sense to lose him for nothing in 2026.

The destination would be Liverpool. He's Guehi's chosen club and one willing to put up the money.

"Understand Liverpool remain in active talks to sign Marc Guehi immediately," says Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.

"LFC are ready to pay over £30m now to get the deal done… but it depends on Crystal Palace.

"If Palace find replacement and let him go, Guehi already said yes to the Reds."

Things are just one step away, then - Palace need to find that replacement. Of course, that would have to happen either this week or next year as Guehi is certainly leaving the Eagles.

Liverpool just hope to offer them some money to make that replacement a little cheaper. Things could move incredibly quickly as a result and fingers crossed it ends with Guehi at Anfield.
