The Brazilian has been the Reds no.1 ever since he arrived in the summer of 2018. In that time, he's played close to 300 games (298 in total) for the club.
This summer though he's about to embark on his toughest challenge yet. With the departure of Caoimhin Kelleher to Brentford, Liverpool have brought in Giorgi Mamardashvili, who is expected to push Alisson for the no.1 spot.
Mamardashvili has made it clear he wants to oust the Brazilian from being Liverpool's first choice and that he has not joined the Reds to sit on the bench.
Eight years younger than Alisson, it's clear that Mamardashvili represents the future of the club. Alongside him, Liverpool have also brought in Armin Pecsi, who they view as a future no.1 goalkeeper as well.
There's Freddie Wooman to contend with as well, who Liverpool brought in on a free transfer this summer. The 28-year-old has a lot of experience under his belt and has been a first choice goalkeeper at Championship level for several years now.
So, it's fair to say this is probably the best group of goalkeepers Alisson has had to contend with in his Liverpool career so far.
That's obviously not going to be a problem for the best goalkeeper in the world. Alisson is still only 32-years-old and in the prime of his years.
More challengers for his spot could only push him to elevate his level further. As will working with renowned goalkeeping coach Xavi Valero, who returned to Anfield this summer.
Nonetheless, despite this notion, there have been some speculation over Alisson's future.
There were reports earlier this summer that Turkish giants Galatasaray made an enquiry to sign Alisson.
However, Anfield Watch understands this was not the case. Sources close to Alisson have exclusively revealed to us that the Turkish side has never made contact with the Brazilian and his camp over a move.
Some clubs have, however, have shown interest in having Alisson in their team. Naturally, a player of his quality is always going to attract interest.
At this stage, a departure from Liverpool looks unlikely. Alisson is certainly content on Merseyside. But as always in football, things can change in the blink of an eye.
