Every Arsenal injury concern ahead of FA Cup clash with Liverpool

Arsenal have a few injuries to worry about as they prepare to welcome Liverpool to the Emirates in the FA Cup on Sunday. The Reds have their own worries, of course.

Mikel Arteta won't have a full squad to choose from on Sunday as his Arsenal team face Liverpool in the FA Cup 3rd Round. No one could go as far as saying the Gunner's squad is depleted but there are a few doubts here.

Three players are definitely out. Thomas Partey has a thigh injury and hasn't played for a little while now - he won't be back until sometime next month.

Fabio Vieira has a groin issue and won't play. He could return for Arsenal later this month but this one comes too early for him. Vieira, of course, was once heavily linked with Liverpool by Portuguese outlets only for him to make the move to North London.

He hasn't quite found rhythm there, though, and usually struggles for game time.

Jurrien Timber is the other player definitely missing this one. The Dutch defender joined Arsenal in the summer but immediately injured his ACL. He'll almost certainly miss the entire season as a result.

Arteta also has two doubts to worry about. The first is Oleksandr Zinchenko. The left-back missed Arsenal's game with Fulham after picking up a calf injury and it's not yet entirely clear if he can face Liverpool.

The feeling is that he will be fit to play but Arsenal will have to wait and see.

Bukayo Saka is the last doubt. The Mirror reports that he has a recurring achilles issue but has been playing through the pain of it. If he's been able to do that up to now, he'll almost certainly continue to do so in a game as big as this.

Still, one to watch.

Arsenal, like Liverpool, have two players away on international duty this month, too. Funnily enough, they're with exactly the same international teams as the Reds' absentees.

Takehiro Tomiyasu has linked up with Japan and Wataru Endo for the Asian Cup. Mohamed Elneny is why Mohamed Salah's Egypt for AFCON. All four players will miss Arsenal vs Liverpool, then. We'll see who copes better.
