The door has opened for Jurgen Klopp to return to Liverpool.

To Reds supporters across the globe, the German is far more than just a successful manager in the club's history.

He's like a second father. The man who restored belief at a time when the club had drifted away from competing for the biggest trophies.

Klopp brought back Liverpool's identity. From the moment he arrived in 2015, he built a relationship with fans through his passion, charisma and profound understanding of what the club means to the city.

Under his leadership, Liverpool returned to the top of European and English football, winning the UEFA Champions League in 2019 and the Premier League in 2020, ending the club’s 30-year wait for a league title. But beyond trophies, Klopp created a deep emotional connection between the team and the supporters.

His famous fist pumps toward the Kop symbolised that bond. Under him we finally felt that Liverpool once again belonged among football’s elite.

Arne Slot is working overtime to tarnish this legacy and this feeling. The Dutchman had a successful campaign winning the Premier League with largely a squad inherited from Klopp.

However, it was only a brief period that Slot was successful in.

Looking at the bigger picture, Liverpool won just 50% of their games in 2025, and the same trend has continued in 2026.

The mentality monsters that Klopp made Liverpool into have whimpered. They've set a record under Slot for losing the most matches in a single Premier League season in added time.

After Wolves' last-gasp winner, it's now happened five times, and Slot seems to be struggling to even secure qualification to the Champions League next season.

A change is inevitable for Liverpool this summer. The club needs to replace Slot and it looks like there may just be a chance to secure a return for Klopp.

The door may have swung ajar for his return to Anfield.

A report in Sky Sports claims that Klopp is already feeling the urge to coach again on a day-to-day basis.

The report goes onto claim that the former Liverpool manager could possibly leave his current role at Red Bull in the summer and that this will open the door for him to accept another managerial coaching role.

It is stated Real Madrid are monitoring his situation and that Klopp would not go to another Premier League club other than Liverpool.

Considering, the Reds will probably be in the market for a new manager this summer, the door now seems to be open for them to approach Klopp about a sensational return.

A return that pretty much every Liverpool fan would welcome with open arms. Klopp being back at Anfield just feels right.
