Club fear Liverpool are about to activate €25m release clause

One of Europe's giants fear Liverpool right now. The Reds may activate a €25m release clause.

Inter are reportedly worried about Liverpool activating the release clause for Denzel Dumfries. The Reds looked into a deal for the Dutchman back in January before ultimately deciding he wasn't worth the risk.

Dumfries had been injured, after all. Replacing Conor Bradley with an injured player was counter-productive, ending the potential deal.

He's back now, though, and TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Inter believe Liverpool's interest remains. They feel his €25m release clause leaves him vulnerable to a deal and the Reds could snap him up.

In January 2026, Liverpool explored a move for the 29-year-old Inter Milan wing-back to provide cover following a season-ending knee injury to Conor Bradley and fitness issues for Jeremie Frimpong.
