Caoimhin Kelleher is ready to come up with the goods once again as Liverpool take on Chelsea in Sunday's Carabao Cup final.

The Irishman was the hero in Liverpool's last Carabao Cup triumph, grabbing the headlines by emphatically dispatching the decisive spot-kick after the game was forced to penalties.

Kelleher was superb throughout the contest, making numerous vital saves to keep Chelsea out and maintain his clean sheet.

Now set for an extended run in the side as Alisson recovers from a muscle injury, the shot-stopper is determined to put on another show-stealing display and guide Liverpool to a 10th League Cup.

Kelleher told the club's official website: "Obviously I've got good memories of that final. It was a really nice moment for myself and the team. It'll be a good experience to draw from and hopefully we can get a good result there again.

"I've got a lot of family coming across from Ireland and friends and stuff. There's a whole crew coming over, so it'll be nice for them.

"They have obviously helped me a lot during my career, so it's a nice thing for them to go over to Wembley and to experience a final. It'll be a nice moment. They were there last time, so hopefully I can give them more of the same this time."

Beyond personal achievement, Kelleher and his teammates also carry extra motivation into the final with the determination to produce silverware in what is Jurgen Klopp's final season at the Liverpool helm.

Klopp awarded Kelleher his Reds debut in this very competition close to five years ago, starting him in goal for their third round tie away at MK Dons.

"He's been such a great person for this club and for me as well," he added.

"He's given me an opportunity as well, so I want to repay him and I think the whole team does just to give him the send-off that he deserves.

"He's taken this club back to where it belongs and we just want to give him the right send-off."
