Liverpool won't make an easier signing that a 15 goal-and-assist Premier League phenomenon.

Liverpool need to get their transfer plans in order for the summer. The Reds have some major deals to strike as they reshape a group that hasn’t worked out this season.

The performances aren’t there despite the £400m spend in 2025. Really, the only solution is to spend some more, finding the players who can glue this current set together properly.

Some stars will leave, some will arrive. We expect a series of deals each way, then, and there probably isn’t an easier one to make than Harry Wilson.

Contract

Harry Wilson is in the final months of his Fulham contract, which runs to summer 2026. Talks over an extension have taken place but, as things stand, he is on course to be available as a free agent at the end of the season.

2025/26 role and performance

Wilson has been one of Fulham’s most productive attackers this season, combining goals, assists and set‑piece threat from the right flank and in central roles. His form has been central to Fulham’s climb into the top half and their outside push towards European qualification.

Transfer picture

With his deal winding down, Wilson is viewed as a potential value free‑transfer option for Premier League clubs looking for proven end product, as well as for interested sides abroad. Fulham would like to keep him but face the risk of losing him for nothing if no new agreement is reached before his contract expires.

Analysis

Wilson will be a free transfer for someone this summer, unless Fulham truly put up the best offer. Nine goals and six assists so far across the Premier League campaign surely opens the door for some sizeable contracts, though.

And Liverpool should be involved. Wilson isn't just a player performing well, he's one doing it in positions the Reds need cover in. He can play on the right, he can play centrally - even drop into midfield.

The Welshman is a set-piece threat, too, and boasts the ability to create from nothing. That's a player top clubs want right now.

But, of course, the best thing here is that Wilson is a homegrown talent. Liverpool could add one for free, enabling better squad flexibility with transfers, as well as bringing in someone who knows the club already.

And without a transfer fee? It's a no-brainer.
