Liverpool were expected to be one of the Premier League's busiest teams again this summer.

Nothing went to plan during the 2025-26 season which led to the Reds finishing fifth in the Premier League table.

This was a massive fall from grace for Arne Slot's men which is why plenty of change was expected at Anfield.

And, while some additions have been made and some could be on their way, it still doesn't feel like Andoni Iraola has a team that's ready to compete for silverware again.

Of course, there's still just under a month left of the summer transfer window so things could still change.

However, in order for anymore deals to be made, it feels like Liverpool will need to sell a player or two and, at the moment, a member of their first-team squad has basically been confirmed to be on his way out of Anfield.

Inter Milan's Davide Frattesi has said that he wants to join Juventus this summer

Several members of Liverpool's squad have been linked with moves away this summer.

The Anfield outfit were expected to undergo a massive overhaul after their failure last term.

However, that hasn't been the case with only a few youth players such as Luca Stephenson exiting.

Of course, several players have left as free agents which means that several voids need to be filled before the window slams shut.

But, since the Reds are a sell to buy club, some exits are expected and now, thanks to an update from La Gazetta dello Sport, it seems like the fate of one Liverpool star is well and truly sealed.

"Davide Frattesi wants Juventus. Or rather, he'd love to work with Luciano Spalletti again. The two appreciated each other in the national team and would be happy to cross paths again," they wrote.

"It's a game of patience, in a summer of attrition rather than quick deals. Inter are also waiting to see if Frattesi will find a team willing to host them, so they can then close the deal with Liverpool for Curtis Jones.

"Marotta and Ausilio are well aware of their player's desire, who last season found limited playing time under Chivu due to physical and other issues.

"But they can accommodate him given a convergent interest: Davide could theoretically even leave on loan, provided there's the potential for an easy buyout in 2027."

Curtis Jones' future is not going to be with Liverpool

Liverpool fans know that Curtis Jones is now in the final year of his current Liverpool contract.

It doesn't feel like the Englishman is close to signing a new deal which means that, if the Reds want to get a fee for him, he needs to be sold this summer.

Even before the window opened, the midfielder was being linked with a move away with Inter Milan even interested in signing him last season.

The Serie A Champions see him as an ideal candidate for their midfield however, at the moment, they've not met the £35 million fee that Liverpool want for him.

Indeed, this may seem a tad steep but, since someone such as Elliott Anderson has just joined Manchester City for £116 million, the fee Liverpool are demanding makes plenty of sense.

And, since the Reds are in desperate need of homegrown players, the fact that they're sticking to their guns makes a lot sense.

Here's hoping that an agreement can be reached soon so that all the involved parties get the outcome that they want.
