Mohamed Salah has bid farewell to Liverpool.

The Egyptian King has reached an agreement to rip up his £400k per week contract one year early. He waved goodbye to Anfield on Sunday - following a 1-1 draw with Brentford in the final Premier League game of the season.

Focus will now turn to which player can come into the club - and deal with the unenviable task of replacing an all-time great.

Players who have been linked with an inward move to Merseyside include Yan Diomande and Bradley Barcola.

But there remains the possibility that Richard Hughes and Arne Slot make a move for a more Premier League-proven talent.

And who better than Jarrod Bowen?

Liverpool love Jarrod Bowen

The 29-year-old has been a consistent campaigner for the Irons ever since joining from Hull City in 2020.

He has netted 85 goals for the East London club - helping his side to the UEFA Europa Conference League title in 2023.

But Bowen was unable to prevent West Ham from sliding into the Championship at the end of the 2025/26 season. The England international signed off with a goal and an assist in the final day demolition of Leeds United.

He scored nine goals overall in the Premier League last season - delivering 11 assists - and became the only Englishman to reach 20 G+A in the division.

That kind of quality is rare - and the signs are that West Ham will be forced to cash in despite a contract until 2030.

West Ham under pressure to sell

Last week it was revealed in the Guardian that owing to losses of over £104m the London Stadium outfit would be forced to sell players this summer.

They will need to raise £100m from sales in the off-season - relegation notwithstanding - and dropping into the Championship will only make things worse.

Although Bowen has made it his priority to help West Ham out of the second tier he may be powerless to prevent the club from entertaining bids this summer.

“Liverpool have long been admirers of Bowen and could target him as they look to boost their forward options,” the report read -

before adding that West Ham would be under “extreme pressure” to sell their top stars. Bowen fits the bill in that respect - a robust, top-flight campaigner with goals and assists in his locker.

Given how consistent he has been for a very poor West Ham team he could only get better at Anfield as smart pick-up in the upcoming transfer window.
