Midfield changes could be coming to Liverpool this summer.

It is likely that we will see departures before any deals for incoming midfield stars are sanctioned.

Stefan Bajcetic and Harvey Elliott are among the squad players linked with the exit door. Curtis Jones meanwhile could be heading off to Inter Milan should the Italian champions reach the €40m asking price.

Adam Wharton and Kaishu Sano are believed to figure on Richard Hughes’ summer midfield wishlist. And there remains the possibility that the outgoing Premier League champions get involved in the bidding for Lille’s 18-year-old prodigy Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Liverpool interested in Ayyoub Bouaddi

A report from Sports Boom is claiming that Liverpool are interested in a deal for the Morocco schemer - but the Merseysiders will have to move fast as Arsenal launch their bid.

“Premier League champions Arsenal have entered the race to sign Moroccan wonderkid Ayyoub Bouaddi as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad with one of Europe's brightest young talents,” the report reads.

Moreover despite a long-term contract until 2029 it is understood that Bouaddi is now angling for a move to the English top flight.

Bouaddi wants Premier League move

“The teenage sensation is understood to be keen on testing himself in the Premier League, putting a host of England's biggest clubs on alert,” the report reads.

“Manchester City and Liverpool have both expressed an interest in signing the exciting youngster.

“Arsenal have now made their move as they look to steal a march on their Premier League rivals before the start of the new campaign.”

Ayyoub Bouaddi: Situation summary

Ayyoub Bouaddi is an 18‑year‑old right‑footed central midfielder, born in France and representing Morocco, who has come through Lille’s academy to become a regular in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

He stands around 1.85m and mixes physical presence with impressive maturity, already trusted in big European games and on the World Cup stage.

Bouaddi plays as a modern No.6/No.8 connector: dropping deep to help build, offering constant passing angles and progressing play with vertical balls and pressure‑breaking carries rather than chasing goals and assists.

Press‑resistant and positionally disciplined, he knits phases together for Lille and Morocco, with high pass‑completion, good duel numbers and an ability to control tempo.

He is under contract at Lille until 2029 and heavily linked with Champions League clubs such as Arsenal, Bayern, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid, with Lille pushing for a big fee and even a sale‑plus‑loan‑back model.

That points towards a medium‑term move to an elite project in England, Germany or Spain, where he would be groomed as a long‑term No.6/No.8 in a possession‑dominant side.
