Liverpool have joined their Premier League title rivals with a historic deal. The Reds are breaking records.

Liverpool aren't just striking big money transfers, it turns out. The Reds made waves again this summer by spending massively on Bradley Barcola, making him their third nine-figure signing in two summers.

In fact, the club will become the first to field three nine-figure players in the same team when Barcola inevitably plays alongside Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak. It's something that still doesn't feel 'right' coming from Liverpool, yet here we are.

Funding that kind of business is only possible with world-leading commercial deals, of course. That's an area where Liverpool have skyrocketed under FSG and they continue to do so with news breaking on Tuesday.

Liverpool agree Turkish Airlines deal

Liverpool have agreed a massive £300m, five-year contract with Turkish Airlines to be their main sponsor. They replace Standard Chartered and will take pride of place on the club's shirt from next season.

The Athletic report that Liverpool believe it's a record-breaking deal for a front-of-shirt sponsor - i.e. a deal that's only for the front of the shirt. Not counting Arsenal's mega-money deal with Emirates that also includes the stadium naming rights, for instance.

But Liverpool do join their title rivals with airline sponsorship. Arsenal aren't even the only ones - Manchester City's all-encompassing sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways is another of the Premier League's dominant deals.

All three clubs will now have airline sponsorships. Chelsea have in the past, of course, and it's become a common one for elite-level clubs. Both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are in the same category.

A massive deal for Liverpool, then. One that brings an end to their 17-year relationship with Standard Chartered and pushes them towards a new era.
