Liverpool are reportedly ready to strike a £60m deal and now the star's agent has jetted out. This could now move quickly.

Liverpool are running out of time to complete their squad for the upcoming season. The Reds are left with around a week to finalise deals and yet they've got a lot to get through.

Curtis Jones left the club this week, potentially meaning a new midfielder will come through the door. They also haven't replaced Mohamed Salah on the right flank - nor have they addressed their attacking woes from the flank.

It at least appears that they've chosen their Salah successor, though. Yankuba Minteh is a wanted man, with Liverpool twice making offers to Brighton for their winger.

The Seagulls have rejected both offers, however, with the second sitting at £60m per the Athletic. Liverpool will need to up that further if they want to complete a deal - but it's firmly getting to the point where you're overpaying.

It does seem that they'll at least negotiate terms, though. Minteh's agent, Bakary Bojang, posted to his Instagram story an image of him getting ready to board a plane, suggesting he's on the move for late talks.

This one could move quickly, then. It does sort of have to, given the lack of time remaining in the window, and Liverpool must decide if they're fully settled on Minteh as the option on the right.

But it's all very chaotic. Liverpool wanted Yan Diomande there, after all, and pivoted to Ibrahim Mbaye a couple of weeks ago. Now they've pivoted again to Minteh - a player with a hit-and-miss record and who is currently out injured for three months.

If he's the one, though, then he's the one. Or at least the best option of a very bad bunch.

Let's see what the final days hold, then. Minteh may come through the door, or Liverpool may pivot once again - or even back to Mbaye. Or maybe it's no one. Who on earth knows at this point.
