"We will see" - Fabrizio Romano on potential signings in January

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided a transfer update regarding Liverpool Football Club.

The Reds have had a troubled start to the 2022-23 campaign. Liverpool have only won two of their opening eight Premier League fixtures.

With that being the case, plenty of Liverpool supporters are wondering if the club will sign any players come January.

Romano said the following about the aforementioned situation.

“We will see in November/December what happens with Liverpool’s transfer strategy,” the Italian journalist told Caught Offside.

“It also depends on recovery time for Arthur Melo, if he will be ready in January or not… there are many factors.

“For sure, the strategy of waiting until the summer is a bit of a risk, but it’s also true that top players are not available in January in 90% of the cases.”

Anfield Watch Verdict

Liverpool look very short in midfield. The Reds are getting overrun on a weekly basis.

Therefore, we would love to see the club sign a midfielder when the January transfer window opens.

Otherwise, Liverpool could potentially miss out on the top four, which would be a disaster.

Missing out on Champions League football could hinder the club's summer transfer business.

The reality is, the top players want to be playing in Europe's elite competition. Hopefully Liverpool can turn things around sooner rather than later. Only time will tell if that is to be the case.
