Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with Brighton has left many feeling incredibly disappointed, and that comes as no surprise. The Reds were 2-0 up with 24 minutes on the clock before the performance levels plummeted. Goals from Jordan Henderson and Sadio Mane put Liverpool in control, but the steady ship soon began to falter, with goals from Enock Mwepu and Leandro Trossard levelling for the visitors.

After the equaliser, Liverpool never looked like scoring the winner. If anything, it was Brighton who looked likeliest to take all three points away from Anfield. And that will and his players.

Liverpool will be hoping to bounce back in instant fashion at Anfield against Atletico Madrid in midweek, before a trip to the in-form West Ham beckons in what will be an incredibly challenging week of action.
