Special winger is ready to replace Mo Salah
An exciting winger showed he's ready to replace Mo Salah at Liverpool.
How many times have we seen this script? A visiting player comes to Anfield and dazzles us supporters only for them to then end up moving to the club.
From Sadio Mane to Takumi Minamino and of course Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.
All of them were players Liverpool had on their radar as potential options but they confirmed they could be THE option with their performances while in the opposition side against the Reds.
Considering, all of them at least won a Premier League title, and made massive contributions to the club, you could argue this policy has worked out pretty well for Liverpool so far.
So why not follow the script? And why not sign a special player who caught the eye against Liverpool on Saturday.
There's a lot of question marks over the future of Mohamed Salah right now. It feels like a matter of when not if he will leave Liverpool.
In fact given everything that has transpired over the last week or so, you wouldn't rule out a January transfer for the Egyptian.
But then the question becomes, who can replace him? Someone of his ilk and calibre is irreplaceable.
There will be no player who could come in and replicate his output. However, there could be a player who comes in and makes Liverpool a more balanced team.
Ask yourself what Liverpool are lacking right now?
Pace, players who can thrive in one vs one situations and high-intensity pressing.
There's one player who comes to mind who ticks all of those boxes and he showed it against Liverpool.
The Reds won 2-0 against Brighton on Saturday, but even during defeat, Yankuba Minteh was his side's best player. His constant running was always a threat on Liverpool's left flank.
Minteh completed the most dribbles (4) on the pitch, and he also created one of Brighton's best chances, sending a perfect through ball that sliced through Liverpool's defence and which Diego Gomez should have most definitely scored.
He was so good at breaking into Liverpool's penalty area and causing problems. If Brighton looked like they were going to score it was all coming through Minteh.
The speed, the intensity that he has, it's exactly what Liverpool need. Sure he needs to work on his output but he's already an impressive creator.
And when you have Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike, you probably would rather have your wide player create chances for them.
It's why Minteh makes the perfect sense, and it's why he confirmed on Saturday that he is ready to replace Salah at Anfield.
