Sensational star WANTS Liverpool transfer
Liverpool are winning the race to sign a sensational star over Arsenal.
At this moment in time the Reds may be four points behind the Gunners but the season is a marathon not a spring. A lot can still happen from now until the end of the campaign.
Where Liverpool have definitely won the race is in the transfer market. Richard Hughes pulled off some of the biggest transfers of the summer, while also beating rivals in the process.
Hugo Ekitike was wanted by Chelsea but chose Liverpool. Milos Kerkez picked Liverpool over Manchester City. The same was true for Florian Wirtz, who also rejected Bayern Munich.
Alexander Isak meanwhile was on Arsenal's radar but he made it clear he wanted a move to Anfield.
It was 'only' Liverpool for these players, and it looks like just because Arsenal started the season strongly, the 'only Liverpool' sentiment remains for January targets too.
One player who a host of clubs are going to be battling it out for is Antoine Semenyo. But it seems like Liverpool are leading the chase for his signature.
That is according to the increasingly reliable Indy Kaila who reports that Semenyo wants to join Liverpool. Previously Kaila had reported that Arsenal were also interested in the winger.
However it seems like the sensational star has made the decision to reject the Gunners in favour of a move to Anfield.
Naturally there's still a lot of time left until the window opens again in January. We're only in October and there's still so many games to play.
Things can change until the window comes knocking. However, what is very clear is that Richard Hughes has a great relationship with Bournemouth.
Semenyo has a release clause that is undisclosed at the moment but could be worth up to £100m. Whether Liverpool would be willing to pay such a significant fee for the attacker remains to be seen.
Liverpool have already spent a lot of money this season. Hughes will not want to splash the cash just for the sake of it.
However, it's becoming increasingly obvious that there is a need for a player like Semenyo in this Liverpool team.
Semenyo is one of the best dribblers in the league and Liverpool have struggled in their one vs one situations this season. Playing against low defensive blocks, Liverpool need someone who can take players on and unlock defences while creating more space and freedom for his teammates.
In a nutshell, Semenyo could be the answer to some of Liverpool's issues and that's why it would not be a surprise if this is a move the Reds did make in January.
