Liverpool winger Sadio Mane scored the opening goal to send Senegal through to the quarter-finals of AFCON on Tuesday night but it came at a cost as he suffered a concussion against Cape Verde.

The Liverpool winger was involved in a nasty clash during the game and had to come off with it clear he was far from 100% after a blow to the head.

He was taken to hospital for further checks but, thankfully, appears to be okay and he took to Instagram to share this update:

Anfield Watch Verdict

It's nice to see Sadio smiling after a nasty knock.

It was a bad blow to the head and it's never nice seeing that on a football pitch.

However, he appears to have had treatment and he'll be eager to help Senegal further in the competition.
