Liverpool are in a good position at the moment and it's about to get even better.
The Premier League champions are preparing for an exciting summer. Sporting director, Richard Hughes, is going to be at the thick of it.

He's already secured the arrival of Jeremie Frimpong and others are set to follow in his footsteps very shortly. Among them, Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz could be an exciting duo who may be heading to Anfield.
But they will not be alone. Liverpool have lofty plans to bring more goals to this side and replace Darwin Nunez. There's also a need to replace the creativity left by Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure and that could see him target a number of players in order to fill the void in the aggregate.
Wirtz would definitely soften the blow of Alexander-Arnold leaving. However, it seems like Liverpool may have even bigger ambitions. Hughes has reportedly made contact to sign another creative player who is tailor made for Slot's system.

That's according to the ever reliable French publication L'Equipe who claim that Liverpool are among the clubs who have made contact to sign AS Monaco's Maghnes Akliouche.
The report claims Liverpool have made contact with Monaco but have asked for patience (we wonder why? Perhaps because of Wirtz?).
It also adds that Paris Saint Germain are interested however they are only able to offer €50m for the 23-year-old, whereas Monaco are holding out for €60m.
The French youth international would be an exciting player for Liverpool. Akliouche had made 19 goal contributions this season, often playing as an attacking midfielder on the right.
One of Akliouche's best assets is his creativity. He's averaged the most key passes (1.04 per 90) in Ligue 1. Meanwhile, he ranks third for expected assists (0.23 xA per 90).
The French attacker is really good at threading passes into the penalty area. He ranks in the top ten for passes into the opposition's box (3.69 per 90) and it's this quality why Liverpool must clearly be interested in the young midfielder.
These are the kind of numbers Alexander-Arnold has been producing for Liverpool.
Akliouche is not a right-back but he does play on the right-side of midfield and he could definitely fill the void perhaps to link up with Mohamed Salah on that side, or even playing as a back-up to the Egyptian when the King needs a rest.
Importantly, Akliouche also works tirelessly off the ball, and his work-rate combined with his technical qualities do make him perfect for Slot's football.

Obviously, with PSG sniffing about, it's never going to be an easy deal for Liverpool to do, but it's one to keep a close eye on.
