Richard Hughes lining up DREAM Real Madrid swap deal
Richard Hughes is a genius and he now has an opportunity to pull off a dream swap deal with Real Madrid.
Let's be honest the Spanish giants have been a thorn in Liverpool's side over the last few years.
They've taken some of our best players like Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold, and they've caused us heartbreak in Kyiv and Paris in two Champions League finals under Jurgen Klopp.
Real Madrid are simply a bastion and undoubtedly the biggest brand in the sporting world. However, that doesn't mean that Liverpool should allow them to take everything they want.
Already, the club is looking to poach Ibrahima Konate from the Reds' grasp and they have now seemingly set sights on another player.
A recent report from Indy Kaila has claimed that Real Madrid are making moves to sign Alexis Mac Allister. According to his report, Liverpool have a figure in mind and that even a January transfer cannot be ruled out.
The report adds that Liverpool are looking to add an elite defensive midfielder.
Well, in that case, there's an easy trade-off. Liverpool will be reluctant to lose Mac Allister. However, he is a bit of a luxury player at the moment and he doesn't quite seem to fit into Arne Slot's current system.
So if Madrid really want him, Liverpool should come to the table. It seems like that is what they are doing because otherwise they would not have set a valuation.
Hughes is clearly open to allowing Mac Allister to leave. However, he won't want to go home empty handed from this negotiations.
Something has to give and it looks like Hughes is already on it. According to a recent report, Liverpool have set sights on Eduardo Camavinga and are even preparing an offer for the Frenchman.
However, why proper an offer when you can come to a potential dream swap deal that works for everyone.
Real Madrid get Mac Allister and Liverpool get a more defensive-minded midfielder in Camavinga who is probably way better suited to Slot's system.
It's a move that works for everyone and if the reports are to be believed it would not be out of the realms of possibility if this was something that was mentioned in negotiations.
Swap deals are rare in football these days due to the nature of financial regulations, but in this case, it might just work.
