Richard Hughes lines up extraordinary €60m offer
Richard Hughes is preparing a huge offer for Liverpool.
At this moment in time one of the most apparent things in Arne Slot's squad is the lack of balance and structure.
Slot just hasn't been able to get the best out of his team because the current set of players available to him are simply not the ones who are suited to the system he wants to play.
In midfield, it's becoming more and more obvious that he needs runners and players who can apply more pressure and be a lot more solid in defensive transitions.
Right now, opponents are finding it so easy to break through the Reds' vulnerable midfield and defence. Long balls have hurt Liverpool but it's also their reaction to the second balls that have been a huge problem.
The likes of Alexis Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch just haven't been good enough winning those loose ball situations.
If you're looking at the bench, you will not find many others who are capable of being able to do this effectively. Curtis Jones is a great player but he's not a duel winner.
So, Hughes has to look at entering the market.
Are there players available for him? Well that's the job of the club's recruitment department to work out. On paper though there certainly seems to be players who fit that bill.
Just look at Elliot Anderson for example at Nottingham Forest. He seems like a really ideal fit for what Liverpool need right now.
But he's not alone. There are plenty of other options and one of them could be an extraordinary move from Hughes' behalf.
According to CaughtOffside Liverpool are expected to table a €60m offer for Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid.
Richard Hughes and his recruitment team have seemingly identified the French star as the perfect option for what they want, and it's not really a surprise.
Camavinga is a very high intensity player who is still really young and who has that ability to bring energy and duel-winning to the midfield.
He also doesn't seem to be favoured by Xabi Alonso this season having made just five starts and played just over 500 minutes so far.
Considering he's 23-years-old and he will want to be playing, especially with this being a World Cup year, the motivation will be huge for Camavinga to move.
Therefore, we would not be surprised if this is one deal Hughes does bring forward in January.
