The fast-approaching summer window looks set to be a busy one at Anfield, and there could be changes both on and off the pitch.

A deal to bring Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool has already been announced, and Mo Salah made his decision to leave the Reds public on Tuesday.

Ibrahima Konate and Andrew Robertson are both into the final months of their deals too, and exits look increasingly likely.

Off the pitch, Arne Slot has faced very heavy criticism this season and his job is by no means secure if performances and results do not improve before the end of the campaign.

Slot isn’t the only one who’s future in Merseyside is unclear though, with Sporting Director Richard Hughes also constantly linked with an early exit.

Richard Hughes faces a tough decision

Hughes arrived at Anfield just under two years ago and has played a crucial role in Liverpool’s recruitment since then, including hiring Slot.

The former Bournemouth man’s contract runs until 2027, but a move to Saudi Arabia has been touted on several occasions this season.

Al-Ahli and Al-Hilal are the two clubs most heavily linked with the 46-year-old and a fresh report has revealed what could be on the table for Hughes should he make the move away from Europe.

Talking to Football Insider, former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson has revealed what Hughes could expect if he agrees a move to the Saudi Pro League.

“Well, financially of course they’ll pay him two to three times probably what he’s on,” Borson said. “And his tax will be a lot less if he stays there for the requisite amount.”

Borson also pointed out that the ongoing uncertainty and conflict in the region could pose a problem for Saudi clubs when trying to recruit from Europe but did also say that this isn’t necessarily a deal breaker.

Liverpool look set to continue their recruitment drive this summer, and Hughes would play a big role in continuing to build the next great team at Anfield, but the offer of greatly increased wages may be a prospect too good to turn down.

With plenty of uncertainty surrounding several key figures at the club, Liverpool have a lot of work to do both on and off the pitch heading into the final few weeks of the season.
