Richard Hughes can land INCREDIBLE £75m star for Liverpool
Liverpool have a secret weapon in their pursuit of a genuine star. The Premier League should be on notice.
Richard Hughes oversaw a remarkable summer as Liverpool spent an unprecedented amount of money. They overhauled their squad for Arne Slot, bringing in players that should suit his long-term plans.
Of course, that came alongside selling a number of players for over £200m in order to help fund it. The number of deals was incredible, honestly, and in stark contrast to the 2024 window.
But Liverpool aren't done. They're looking to continue the overhaul, having not really revitalised the wings, centre-back or midfield.
All of those roles will be under the microscope and the wing is particularly interesting as it's Mo Salah's place. The Egyptian will not be around forever and now is the time for Liverpool to consider long-term replacements.
One potential signing has now popped up - and Hughes himself is the key to getting it done.
Liverpool and Antoine Semenyo
Antoine Semenyo has absolutely exploded into form this season. He's got six goals in his first seven Premier League games, including two at Anfield on the opening day.
Last season was something of a breakout campaign for him as he bagged 11. Now the Bournemouth star is over halfway to matching that tally.
Talksport claim his form has really caught the eye at Liverpool. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur both want him, too, but Hughes is supposedly a real admirer.
After all, he was the one who took Semenyo to Bournemouth in the first place. There's already a relationship there and one that's benefitted the player greatly.
It gives the Reds a leg up in any negotiations. Semenyo knows he can trust what Hughes tells him, essentially, while the Liverpool man is on good terms with those at Bournemouth.
We think this is absolutely one to watch as Semenyo is in sensational form right now. Liverpool, too, will have to sign a winger at some point, not just to replace Salah but also Luis Diaz, who departed without a direct replacement this summer.
