Real Madrid have reportedly looked into a massive transfer with Liverpool. Positive feedback was given, too.

Liverpool cannot really escape Real Madrid. If they're not battling for the same transfers, the Spaniards want to sign players directly from the Reds.

Of course, Trent Alexander-Arnold heading there in the summer was the most high-profile move in a while. But the situation with Xabi Alonso this season brought about memories of Real Madrid taking him from Anfield in 2009.

He was sacked just a few months into his spell in charge there and now he's linked with a return to Liverpool. And who took over from him? Alvaro Arbeloa - another player who swapped Merseyside for Madrid.

Los Blancos certainly aren't stopping there, either. Reports suggest they've got their eyes on at least one more transfer from Liverpool and they've received positive feedback on it, too.

Alexis Mac Allister to Real Madrid

The Athletic reports that Carlo Ancelotti pushed for Real Madrid to sign Alexis Mac Allister when he was in charge of the club. They looked into a deal from the player’s side, too - and apparently received ‘positive feedback’.

However, they didn’t test Liverpool’s desire to keep the player. Whether the Reds are open to selling isn’t known but it sounds as though Real Madrid may find out soon.

Mac Allister is apparently ‘well liked’ over there and the suggestion here is that he’s on their shortlist in some capacity. His contract to 2028 means Liverpool might feel inclined to sell this summer while his value is still very high.

Everyone can expect some sort of talk around this move, then. We fully expect Liverpool to rebuild their midfield in the summer, having avoided any serious signings in 2025.

Moving Mac Allister on may be a part of that, if only to fund that rebuild. It’s absolutely one to watch.
