Premier League teams circle Trent Alexander-Arnold amid Real Madrid exit rumours
Trent Alexander-Arnold's departure from Anfield last summer was a massive moment for Liverpool, but the right-back could find himself back in England sooner than he expected.
Many thought that Trent, who was the club’s vice-captain last season, would follow in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher and spend the majority of, if not all of, his career with the Reds.
He made the decision to chase a new challenge with Real Madrid though, and six months on things haven’t quite gone to plan.
Having failed to show the quality he became known for with Liverpool, rumours are already starting to fly about the Englishman’s future in Madrid.

Talk of a move back to England has been swirling since shortly after the 27-year-old made the move to Spain, and a questionable first few months with his new team have only intensified these rumours.

Manchester City were the team initially linked, but Manchester United and Newcastle have now reportedly joined the race and that any of these teams would be willing to pay €40 million (~£35m) to secure the right-backs signature in July.
Defensa Central are suggesting however that Real Madrid wouldn’t be willing to contemplate such an offer and that the player is still happy with his club.
The fact Trent has suffered from several injuries since his arrival at the Bernabeu will likely be enough on its own for Los Blancos to give him more time to settle.
Could Trent really make a return to England?
Although Madrid may not be looking to sell now, a lot can change in six months, and if Alexander-Arnold has failed to make any impact they could reconsider their position.
Liverpool supporters would like to think that, even if Trent did move on from Real Madrid, he would refuse to join a rival such as Manchester United but Michael Owen is living proof that such a thing could happen.
If Madrid were to listen to offers for Trent, it seems likely that there would also be plenty of interest from outside of England too, and the Anfield faithful would hope that their former hero would chose to represent a side far away from home to avoid wrecking his Liverpool legacy.
It is still early in Trent’s Real Madrid career, and just because teams are circling doesn’t mean it is over yet, but this is definitely one to keep an eye on heading into the summer.
