Peter Crouch makes ‘tough’ Liverpool prediction

Liverpool have been far from their best this season.

There have obviously been times when the Anfield outfit have been the better team but more often than not, their opponents have got the better of them.

In fact, things got so bad at one point that fans were calling for Arne Slot's head with some even asking for Steven Gerrard to make a return to the club on an interim basis.

Since then, Liverpool's form has started to pick up and, while there have been glimpses of the best side of Liverpool coming out, they've often been second best with their recent 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth a key indicator of that.

Despite this, fans have kept positive with former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch now sharing his thoughts on Arne Slot's men.

At the moment, it feels like Liverpool only have the Champions League and FA Cup left to play for.

They're miles behind first-placed Arsenal and, with their recent Premier League form, it feels unlikely that they'll make a last-dash charge for the title.

Despite their lack of form, they're not likely to give up hope any time soon with their next top flight clash set to come against Manchester City.

And, ahead of the game, Crouch has shared his thoughts on how the clash could end up.

“This is always a tough one isn’t it [Liverpool versus Manchester City],” Crouch said on the That Peter Crouch Podcast.

“I’m just sticking with a 2-2, if you allow me to then I will go for it because it’s been working and I just feel like I can see it [happening].”

Liverpool will have to be at their best to beat Manchester City on Sunday

Now that Manchester City have added Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi to their ranks, they're a force to be reckoned with.

Much like Liverpool, one of City's main problems this season has been the number of injuries that their defensive line have suffered.

Both Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol have recently been ruled out with long-term injuries which caused big problems for the Cityzens.

However, now that the massively experienced Guehi has been brought in, it's going to be hard for Liverpool to break down Pep Guardiola's defence.

And, even though Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate put on impressive performances during their 4-1 win against Newcastle on 31 January, Semenyo is currently in the form of his life.

There's a lot of ifs, buts and maybes ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash between Liverpool and Man City, but, if the Reds want to stand a chance of beating their rivals, they'll need to give no less than 100 per cent to do so.
