An exciting winger has given Liverpool a green light to make a move for him.

It's becoming increasingly more apparent that the Reds are lacking sufficient forward options. Particularly on the left-wing.

Last season Arne Slot had the luxury of choosing between Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz. The latter then departed the club and no one has come in to fill the void.

That is why Liverpool are very interested in Antoine Semenyo at the moment. He is exactly the type of player who would be a fitting replacement for Diaz.

Unfortunately a lot of other clubs are also looking at the Bournemouth winger because of his enticing release clause.

This means that Liverpool may have to turn towards alternatives.

And there's an exciting option they could take a look at who is being called the 'next Florian Wirtz' in Germany.

Before Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz made a name for himself at FC Koln. That is where he developed a reputation as one of Germany's most exciting talents and where he came through the academy youth ranks.

Now there's a new sensation at Koln following in the footsteps of Wirtz. His name is Said El Mala and he's only 19-years-old but already he is being considered as a senior national team member for Germany.

The left-winger has eight goal contributions in 12 Bundesliga games for Koln so far this season. He's been very effective in front of goal which is how he has caught the attention of the German national team.

But there's more to El Mala just goals and assists. He's a street footballer of the best kind.

El Mala hustles and bustles on the pitch. He tracks down opponents, he isn't afraid to get stuck in and he plays with a lot of intensity and power.

He's got a strong lower body and extremely quick feet. He can dribble past opponents with ease and excel even in tight spaces.

When he's got the ball he's the type of player that gets fans out of their seats. You always expect something to happen.

And it's the kind of player Liverpool are missing at the moment.

Unsurprisingly, most of Europe's top clubs are looking at him and Liverpool will be among them. Like we said, he's the kind of left-winger that the Reds have been looking to add for the last year and a half.

It started with Anthony Gordon, then Khvicha Kvaratskhelia followed and now Antoine Semenyo.

El Mala is of the same mould and his recent comments should give Liverpool the green light to make a move for him.

Speaking about his future as per Buli News, El Mala admitted he dreams of playing in the Champions League.

“When you’re a young player and have a few goals or assists in the Bundesliga, I think it’s normal that several clubs take notice. I’m aware of it, but it doesn’t affect me," he said.

“Everyone wants to play in the Champions League. Everyone wants to play for the biggest clubs. That’s what every footballer works towards."

This should be music to the ears of Richard Hughes and his recruitment team.
