Midfielder confirms he'll be ready to move
An exciting midfielder has confirmed he might be ready to move in 2026, and he's on Liverpool's radar.
Right now, if we're looking at the middle of the park, it's probably the area of the pitch where the Reds need to invest in the least.
Sure, they could do with another body to replace Wataru Endo, and perhaps Alexis Mac Allister may need to be replaced as well, given he is drawing interest from elsewhere.
But ultimately, Arne Slot has a lot of depth and options to choose from. Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch are all elite midfielders with different tools in their locker that alongside Mac Allister make for a really balanced midfield.
In the defensive and attacking department, that balance hasn't been found yet.
Nonetheless, this is not to mean that Liverpool won't be looking for potential options in the market. As we mentioned, an extra midfielder to increase the club's depth could come in handy.
One such option could be Lamine Camara, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool this year by Caught Offside.
A Senegalese midfielder who is only 21-years-old, Camara came through the same academy as Sadio Mane, breaking onto the stage at Generation Foot before moving over to Metz, again following the same pathway as the former Reds winger.
After catching the eye at Metz, Camara's path has deviated from Mane's. He has moved to AS Monaco, where he has become an important player and is catching the eye for the French side in the same way as Fabinho was during his time there - prior to moving to Anfield.
Camara will definitely be ready for the next step in his career soon, and Liverpool could be an excellent option for him.
Especially, if the Reds decide to move Mac Allister on, for whom Camara could be the perfect replacement.
He's a deep-lying creator, full of energy and someone who is capable of making very smart decisions. His profile very much fits into what Liverpool are looking for in a midfielder and Camara was recently asked about his future in an interview with Get Football News France.
In that interview, Camara confirmed that he could be ready to make a move come the end of the season in the summer of 2026, asserting that he is content with Monaco for now.
"For now, I would say that I am very happy at Monaco," Camara said.
"It is a team in which I am really at ease. There are players who are really kind here, who are really ambitious, too. I also have a manager who really counts on me. The Premier League is a league that I follow a lot; everyone follows it. Most players really like it, but I would say that I am very happy at Monaco and really focused on Monaco.
"My personal objective is to help the team; I would also like to score and make assists for the team. I am not thinking about changing club, but at the end of the season, we will see what happens."
Those last words are a big clue about where Camara's head is at. The 'we will see' is a footballer's way of saying that they are ready to make a move at that time.
So, he's a player to keep a close eye on from now until the rest of the season.
