Is Mo Salah about to leave Liverpool? A massive new update could signal his exit from the club.

Mo Salah’s future has never been in more doubt. The Egyptian was dropped entirely from the Liverpool squad against Inter on Tuesday after his dramatic weekend outburst.

Salah sought out reporters in the aftermath of Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Leeds United. He had some things to say about being left out of the starting XI for three consecutive matches - and not even getting on in two of them.

They were three matches Liverpool should have won but none of them brought good performances. The team dropped points against two newly-promoted teams while none of the games were comfortable.

Salah feels he’s being scapegoated for the club’s poor form and you can see where he’s coming from. The winger is the only regular this season to have been dropped like this - despite being far from the only one who isn’t performing.

It all comes with a backdrop: renewed interest from Saudi Arabia. Reports developed last week that there were Saudi Pro League clubs looking to sign Salah now that his position at Liverpool wasn’t absolute.

Mo Salah's future

So how have the Saudi clubs reacted to this turn of events? Well, they smell an opportunity.

The Telegraph report that top Saudi clubs will do 'whatever it takes' to sign Salah. In fact, it's not even just the PIF clubs hoping to snap him up.

It's a wrinkle that might just convince everyone to move on in January. 'Whatever it takes' may include an enormous amount of money to both Liverpool and Salah.

With neither party particularly happy with the current situation, it will be incredibly tempting. It may even be enough to bring Salah's Liverpool story to a close - even if we'd hate for that to be the case.

It's difficult to ignore that things are heading in that direction, though. Salah went all-out with his comments and it's clearly rocked the club and Arne Slot.

Is there really any coming back? We're not so sure. Too many egos involved and too much money. This really could be it and the SPL clubs are more than willing to play their part.
