With Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson already confirmed to be leaving, and several other departures expected, this summer will be a significant milestone in Richard Hughes’ Liverpool rebuild.

Replacing Salah will be the number one priority for the recruitment team at Anfield, and Hughes and Co will be busy identifying potential successors.

Now, according to a new report, Liverpool have named their top target and the player is open to an Anfield switch.

Liverpool’s top target open to Premier League transfer

One of the most exiting names linked with a Merseyside move recently is RB Leipzig’s teenage prodigy Yan Diomande.

The 19-year-old has announced himself as one of Europe’s top prospects, and several clubs will be chasing him this summer.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Ivorian is top of Liverpool’s shortlist this summer and would be open to a move to England.

Having already managed 22 goal involvements in 33 matches for the German side this season, it is clear why the teenager finds himself so high on Liverpool’s list of priorities.

Multiple reports have established a valuation of around €100 million (~£87m) ahead of the window, with Leipzig reluctant to let their biggest star go.

Diomande is set to play at the World Cup with the Ivory Coast this summer too, which could complicate a move if no agreement is in place before the competition kicks off on 11 June.

The player has made his admiration for Liverpool known in the past, and a move for Diomande to replace one of the Premier League’s greatest ever wingers, Salah, would make a lot of sense.

The Reds may struggle to meet Leipzig’s price tag without first making some sales, but a number of first-team departures will likely fund the Reds’ summer spending and Diomande could well call Anfield home next season.
