Here's what Liverpool will reportedly do going forward as they near three new signings. The Reds' transfer window is firmly underway.

The transfer window is open and Liverpool appear ready to do some deals. There were no immediate transfers this time or any rush to get anything done - but things are now moving forward.

There's plenty of talk around selling Federico Chiesa back to Juventus, for one. That's a deal which could trigger some incomings as the Reds seek to inject more pace into their attack.

But before that, Liverpool have moved to find some new defenders. Noah Adekoya has arrived from Burnley - and here's everything you need to know about him.

Mor Ndiaye could soon join him on Merseyside, while Ifeanyi Ndukwe could agree a move for the summer shortly. Three young defenders, then.

And here's what Liverpool will reportedly do with their first-team after signing them.

Liverpool's first-team plans

Liverpool.com claims that despite signing three defenders, Liverpool will not bring any of them into their first-team plans this season. All three are planned to be Under 21 players, including Ndukwe in the summer.

And that's an interesting one. Liverpool are short in defence right now, with Giovanni Leoni out for the season and Joe Gomez consistently struggling for fitness.

In fact, Gomez has played more often at right-back when he's been fit. That will surely continue, too, after Conor Bradley's injury.

That will surely strain and already difficult position for Arne Slot and Liverpool. But they still don't plan on bringing the youngsters into the setup.

Is that because they don't fancy them immediately? Or is it because they have plans for senior signings, too?

We won't know the answer to that until the window shuts. For now, though, it does seem like a risky move.
