From Florian Wirtz to Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and now Hugo Ekitike. We simply cannot wait to see how all of them get on next season.

The excitement levels are through the roof at Anfield. However, Hughes is not done just yet. We all know the Reds are holding out for Alexander Isak.

They would like to get that deal somehow agreed with Newcastle with Isak being the dream target for the club. However, it's going to be a tricky one to complete.

On the other hand, another key target Liverpool have seemingly been given a green light for and it could be a relatively simple deal for the Reds to get over the line.

Another area that Hughes has made a priority in the window is the centre-back department. Liverpool simply need at least one more senior option there.

With Jarell Quansah having departed for Bayer Leverkusen, Arne Slot only has Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate to pick from.

Of course in times of need Wataru Endo could perhaps fill that role. Or as we have seen in pre-season, Andy Robertson, Kostas Tsimikas and youngster Luca Stephenson can all play there as well.

But ideally, Liverpool need to fix that position with a permanent solution. And the perfect solution for the Reds is U17 World Cup winner Marc Guehi.

Now 25-years-old, Guehi is part of the golden England generation that won the U17 World Cup in 2017 alongside Phil Foden and Rhian Brewster.

Since then, Guehi has probably had one of the best careers of anyone in the squad, becoming a Palace captain, winning the FA Cup and a starter for England's senior national team.

He has just one year left on his contract with Palace and has emerged as the obvious solution for Liverpool's centre-back problem. He can play on the right and the left side of defence and he's homegrown, which is an area where the Reds could be lacking options come the start of the campaign.

And perhaps more importantly, it looks like Guehi is also available this summer.

That's according to Givemsport, who report that Palace are now 'welcoming bids' for the England international.

This is about as clear of an indication that Guehi could be on the move this summer as you will ever see. A club doesn't just entertain bids for players they don't want to sell.
