Liverpool working on MASSIVE contract offer
Liverpool are working on a massive new contract offer.
At this moment in time, there is just a tinge of uncertainty around Anfield. Liverpool have entered a plateau under Arne Slot.
It may only be a slight blip but it's enough of a blip to take notice of and put pressure on the Dutchman. Thankfully, Liverpool remain in a good position.
They are just one point adrift of Arsenal in the Premier League title race and still have points on the board in the Champions League with plenty of games to turn things around in the competition.
At the same time, it's not all sunshine and rainbows at Anfield. Liverpool have been poor for a lot of the season. Even when they were getting results, things were not perfect.
Slot's side have looked sloppy in possession and even more vulnerable at counter attacks.
So there are definite areas where Liverpool need to evolve. But Slot will be trusted to turn things around. It's important to acknowledge that player turnover was significant at the club this summer.
A lot of players have come in, and many have left, this has led to Liverpool bringing five or six new players to the starting line-up who were not at Anfield last season.
Naturally, any side, even the best in the world, is going to take time to gel together and any manager will also need time to figure out just exactly what to do in order to get the best out of his players.
Slot has a good team. He's missing some elements, and the loss of Trent Alexander-Arnold is a significant one to Liverpool's progressive play.
But ultimately, there is no better man for the job than Slot.
He's perfect in every sense of the word. Both in his ethics, he understands what is required of a Liverpool manager and both in his style of play.
Slot's football is fast, and exciting. We haven't seen it like that this season but it's important not to forget how exhilarating it was to watch last season.
Liverpool will be back playing that system and will be even better when they do. The Reds certainly have long-term plans with Slot in charge.
The Daily Mail reports Liverpool are still working on a new contract offer for Slot with his agent Rafaela Pimenta and that this is on the agenda as the Reds don't want him to enter the final year of his contract next season.
So, it should be sorted this season, which is massive news. Slot will likely get a raise and Liverpool keep a manager who has shown he can deliver success and trophies.
