Liverpool have got some contract scenarios to resolve. Having successfully tied down both Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah until 2027, the focus now turns to Ibrahima Konate among others.

The France defender, 26, is out of contract one year from now and could be SOLD this summer if no breakthrough is reached over a new deal.

In 2027, Luis Diaz’s terms will expire. And there have been increasingly loud noises that the Colombian will be put up for sale this summer.

One more player whose contract situation could be surprisingly brought into sharper focus is Cody Gakpo. The 26-year-old former PSV captain joined in January 2023 and took a starring role in the Reds’ recent Premier League title win.

Gakpo waiting for Liverpool contract offer

He scored 18 goals in all competitions last season, providing consistency and quality for Arne Slot on the left flank. Gakpo looked at home on the wing after failing to nail down a regular role under Slot’s predecessor Jurgen Klopp.

Now it’s been claimed that the Netherlands international is waiting on a new deal from sporting director Richard Hughes, with three years left to run on his current terms.

Bayern Munich are reported to be keen on adding Gakpo this summer, although it would be a surprise if Liverpool considered a sale.

With Diogo Jota, Darwin Nunez, Ben Doak, Federico Chiesa and Diaz all suggested as potential departures, Arne Slot will need a degree of stability in his attacking numbers.

Liverpool value Gakpo at €100m

“The Reds value their player at €100m (£84.2m) and are not looking to sell him this summer, but there have been suggestions that an offer in the region of €70m-€80m (£58.9m-£67.3m) could make them reconsider if Arne Slot decides to reshape his squad amid a potential attacking reshuffle,” a report in Empire of the Kop reads.

"Gakpo is aware of the interest from Bayern and is understood to be awaiting a new contract offer from Liverpool, with his current £120,000-per-week deal running to June 2028.”

Having successfully helped the club to the Premier League title, Gakpo might feel a pay rise is on the horizon.

But that would be to ignore the current furore over Diaz - who would like his wages to rise from £55k per week to somewhere in the region of £150k per week.

Gakpo will still be in his peak as his contract ticks to its conclusion, so Liverpool will soon have another decision to make.

Will they tie up a new deal on a pay rise? Or will they take the opportunity to cash in? Time will tell which way Richard Hughes will turn.

Konate sometimes is excellent but other times he has a mare, i think we need to cash if he is stalling in contract talks we don't want another Trent situation leaving on a free, cash in now and but Hincapie from Leverkusan.
