Liverpool 'make contact' with €60m star
Liverpool are always poking around potential market opportunities to see if a deal is to be had.
It is unlikely there is a deal happening in the world that Liverpool aren't aware of given how incessant the club's scouting operation is. Every single target is track to within an inch of their lives.

These players that are on the Reds' radar are not just those that might be brought in this summer in positions that need recruitment, but also the areas within the squad that might need attention in future.
Looks at the situation with Mohamed Salah, for example. The Egyptian has just signed a two-year extension with the club, but why should the research undertaken regarding targets to replace him go to waste? After all, we might need a successor for him before his contract ends in 2027.
Contact made with Takefusa Kubo
Over at Real Sociedad, the Japanese 23-year-old has a very uncertain future this summer.
His intentions to remain with the Basque team, but the club's manager has since left which is making him doubt everything and assess his options before he commits to staying put for next season.
Liverpool have been lingering around the possibility of signing Kubo and last month, it was reported that he had put in his transfer request. Given the news about Martin Zubimendi joining Arsenal, it is plausible to suggest that the right-winger might also be on the move this summer.
According to AS, he is now set to change his agent and once that's all sorted, which is expected to be later this week, the player and his representation will sit down and to discuss his future might.
The report claims: "The Premier League keeps knocking on his door, primarily Liverpool and Arsenal".
As such, while Salah's short-term future is no longer a problem, we could potentially see Kubo join the Reds anyway in order to learn from the Egyptian King before he goes on to succeed him.
Despite his current contract lasting until 2029, he has a release clause worth €60m (£50m) which would be a genuinely reasonable fee to replace Salah, if the club wants in a succession strategy.
Of course, there are other positions that are in need of more imminent attention at Liverpool, so this would have to be an extra deal that Liverpool could look to once the main business is completed.
Furthermore, indulging in a Salah replacement before he leaves is a bold approach, which could easily upset the status quo that seems to be working so perfectly at the moment.
