Liverpool in pole position for £120m striker deal
Liverpool will be eyeing up striker targets for the remainder of this summer's transfer window.
A couple of players stand clear of the rest and securing a deal is going to be far from straightforward.

Of course, sales are going to be crucial to the rest of our recruitment business, now that nearly £200m has been spent, but around £60m has already been brought in and there's plenty to come.
But don't think for a minute that Liverpool will be cash-strapped until September. If a deal on the right terms can be agreed for a player, regardless of what the fee is, then the Reds will not hesitate.
In the case of Alexander Isak at Newcastle, one of the two most enticing striker options, Liverpool will not be giving up quite yet. If the Magpies change their stance, then the club will go for him.
Liverpool lead the way for Isak
According to Sami Mokbel, the BBC's chief football correspondent, Liverpool are the only club with a chance to sign Isak, with Arsenal's hopes paling into insignificance.
This intel came from an update he recently gave on the Latter Firm - Arsenal FC YouTube channel.
He said: "I think the ideal scenario for Mikel Arteta is to get Alexander Isak. I think we kind of know that there’s probably less than 2% chance of that happening, if that, just because of the sheer numbers involved.
"If you’re going for Isak, next season might be the season where you get a chance, when he’s just got two years left on his contract."
As such, we can seemingly count the Gunners out of the race, leaving just the Reds in the hunt.
That 2% chance might well be applicable to any team trying to sign the Swede this summer, but there is a decent amount of optimism and hope on Merseyside compared to North London.
From 'he's not for sale' to 'he might cost £150m-£200m' to 'we're looking at fresh contract talks to break the wage system', it appears as though Newcastle's stance on Isak is prone to change.
An extraordinary fee would be required to secure the striker's signature, which might be another reason to count out Arsenal, whereas Liverpool are content with being bold in the transfer market.

But as mentioned earlier, the search for a striker will likely extend until the September deadline if Isak is the chosen target, and so we still have a lot of time for developments, be them positive or negative.
