Real Madrid tell Xabi Alonso: Liverpool star will NOT join
Real Madrid have reportedly made it clear to Xabi Alonso. One Liverpool star will not join them this summer.
Real Madrid certainly love a Liverpool player. Or at least, they certainly love the players Liverpool want to have.

The number of transfer targets who have turned the Reds down for a move to Los Blancos is quite incredible. Half of their team could have been wearing Red if things had gone slightly differently.
And now they're set to add a player who has been wearing Red. Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool with the end of his contract this summer and is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
It's a massive blow for Liverpool, of course, as they lose their brightest homegrown talent since Steven Gerrard. And they lose him for free.
But Real Madrid actually don't want to stop there. They're hoping to sign another Liverpool star - but they won't get their way.
Real Madrid to miss out on Ibrahima Konate
Defensa Central claims Real Madrid have immediately told new coach Xabi Alonso that Ibrahima Konate is a no-go this summer. In fact, they feel he's impossible to sign.
Liverpool want at least €70m for the Frenchman, despite him being in the final year of his contract. That price almost certainly comes from a mix of their belief he could renew and Paris Saint-Germain's competition for his signature.
Real Madrid won't have this one their own way this summer, then. However, they still might win in the long-term.
Konate will be out of contract in 2026 and Real Madrid are expected to try and sign him on a free transfer, much as with Alexander-Arnold. That remains a very real possibility.
For now, though, Konate will not be heading to Madrid. That doesn't necessarily mean he sticks at Liverpool for next season - PSG are a legitimate option - but Los Blancos are off the table.
