Dismissing interest from Real Madrid is easier said than done.

As committed as a player might be to their club, the opportunity to play for Los Blancos is ordinarily one that it too good to be true and declining a potential offer is an incredibly bold move.

Liverpool fans will be all too aware of this with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who gave in to Madrid's demands straight away. Despite what the fans would think of him, the opportunity couldn't be turned down.

The major takeaway from that instance is that the Reds' vice-captain was clearly assessing his options, and a future away from Liverpool was something that he was actively considering.

For the remaining players, who are committed to Arne Slot's project, interest from Madrid might be a little easier to dismiss, but the fans will struggle to find security until a move is formally turned down.

Real Madrid seem to have moved on from Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister - the Copa America, World Cup and now Premier League winner - is going to attract attention in every transfer window. That's just part and parcel of having him around.

But the risk that Madrid pose to him is significant. Legends such as Toni Kroos and Luca Modric are beginning to retire and Florentino Perez is unwilling to let the club move forward without sufficient replacements. In every sense of the word, they are Galacticos and their absence will be noteworthy.

Spanish reports had linked the Argentinian as a possible recruit this summer and Liverpool fans around the world were bracing themselves from a tortuous transfer window of stress and anxiety that he could leave.

Given the stature of a club like Real Madrid, it was plausible that an offer could've been made for him that Liverpool simply couldn't ignore. In those circumstances, the fan base would be split once again.

However, we have now been given a glimmer of hope that Madrid are no longer interested in him.

According to Nicolò Schira, an agreement in principle between Real Madrid and Angelo Stiller has been reached for a five-year deal, as a deal is progressing with to confirm the move.

The 24-year-old is known for his playmaking, his ground duels and his positioning, basing himself deep in midfield, making him an idea candidate for the position that Madrid are looking to fill.

Of course, the reliability of this intel is to be doubted, even though the story is said to be 'exclusive', but it's a reason to suggest that Mac Allister is no longer their main target.

Even if the midfield maestro was targeted, we could say with good faith that Mac Allister would dismiss it - he's quickly become a fan favourite who is starting to resemble Steven Gerrard.

But a world where Liverpool keep hold of all the players they intend to use next season is becoming increasingly likely and that can only be a good thing. For the time being, we can take a sigh of relief.
