Liverpool now only one step away from completing sensational Bradley Barcola deal

Liverpool are locked in a transfer battle for Bradley Barcola.

The 23-year-old Paris Saint-Germain forward has emerged as the Reds’ first-choice winger this window. PSG are continuing to demand top-dollar for the France international - with the latest figures put on the deal coming in at around £145m.

That would be far too high a price for Richard Hughes to pay - particularly with only two years left to run on Barcola’s PSG contract.

There is no chance of him signing a new deal at the club he joined from Lyon for around £45m back in 2023. And it means the two-time European champions need to cash in soon or else risk Barcola’s stock plummeting.

Barcola not likely to play for PSG again

He is not currently in Luis Enrique’s thoughts for selection - watching the French Super Cup defeat to Lens from the stands. And he won’t be integrated back into the lineup until his future is cleared up according to a report from RMC Sport.

“Bradley Barcola is not expected to rejoin the Paris Saint-Germain squad until his future is resolved,” the report reads.

Liverpool have so far come up short in their efforts to convince the Parisians to do business over Barcola.

There is a reluctance to go beyond around £100m in a deal for the wide attacker - and even that sum would probably need sales to finance it.

Liverpool is Barcola's preferred destination

Nonetheless it would appear that Barcola is now only one step away from joining the Reds - his preferred transfer destination this summer.

Because RMC is reporting that a new bid from Anfield is imminent with Liverpool now determined to wrap up a deal as soon as possible.

“Liverpool are still negotiating his transfer during the summer transfer window and are expected to make a new offer soon,” the report reads.

“The English club continues to talk with PSG, who are demanding nearly €170 million for their star player.

“Negotiations are ongoing despite the price difference between the two parties. The English club's management still wants to finalize the deal, and a new offer is expected this week.”

'Everyone' expects an agreement between PSG and Liverpool for Barcola

Despite talk of Arsenal re-entering the running for Barcola it appears the forward has only got eyes for Anfield.

And in a massive transfer boost for the Reds sources around the Parc des Princes are now privately resigned to the winger moving to Merseyside.

“The priority for the striker, who came through the Lyon academy, is to join Liverpool,” the report reads.

“Everyone now expects an agreement to be reached between the Parisians and the Anfield club.”
