Liverpool OPEN talks for Real Madrid superstar
Liverpool are ready to conduct an attacking shakeup in the summer transfer window. We could see Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota leave the club, with neither managing to convince Arne Slot in the No9 role this season.
There could be changes on the wings too with uncertainty over Luis Diaz, Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott. While Liverpool are understood to want to keep Diaz, if no resolution is reached over a new deal then the Colombian could be on his way.

Chiesa is attracting interest from Serie A while Tottenham are also now considered contenders to sign the Italian. Elliott, meanwhile, has been a good servant for the club but may have to look elsewhere for extensive first-team opportunities.

Those exits would leave significant gaps for club bosses to fill and there has been no shortage of links to attackers. In the centre forward position we’ve seen Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro listed among the candidates to arrive.
Several wingers have also been associated with an Anfield arrival with the likes of Bryan Mbeumo, Anthony Gordon and Xavi Simons reportedly on the club’s shopping list.
Rodrygo on Liverpool's list
One name which refuses to go away is that of Rodrygo - the versatile Real Madrid attacker who usually plays on the right but who can also feature centrally and from the left.
A Real player since 2019, the 24-year-old is now under severe threat for his starting place amid competition from Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior and Jude Bellingham.
The Brazil international risks falling out of contention and unless things change soon he could be on his way. Madrid are expected to move on from Carlo Ancelotti this summer - with Xabi Alonso lined up to replace him.
And, according to TBR Football, Rodrygo’s representatives are going to seek reassurances over his status in the team.
Liverpool make contact for Rodrygo
Furthermore it’s also claimed that Liverpool are among THREE Premier League teams who have made contact with the player’s camp over the terms of a summer transfer.
“Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City have all made contact to sign Rodrygo from Real Madrid,” a report reads.
“Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City have spoken with Rodrygo’s representatives in recent weeks to enquire about his situation. “Rodrygo’s camp are being receptive to potential interest from the Premier League.
“If Rodrygo is not given certain assurances about his place in the team then he will look at potential options elsewhere.”

It’s not the first time Liverpool have been linked with Rodrygo - who admitted he came close to moving to Anfield before joining Madrid. The club were also reported to be interested last summer when uncertainty was prevalent around Mohamed Salah.
