Liverpool in talks over MASSIVE double deal

Liverpool are already in talks with another major club over a potentially massive double deal. This summer continues to deliver.

Liverpool aren't messing about this summer as they continue a major overhaul of their title-winning team. Now, title-winning teams don't usually decide to overhaul things but the Reds are a little different to normal champions.

This Premier League title, after all, was delivered with Jurgen Klopp's squad. Arne Slot hasn't been afforded a squad built for him and his style of play - but he's certainly earned that.

Anfield Watch learned of plans to overhaul the team back in February and we're now seeing that that looks like. Florian Wirtz is the centre-piece but the Reds will try to move out several first-team players.

We imagine that comes before more major signings, at least in the forward roles, given Liverpool are spending so much money on Wirtz. So with that in mind, news of talks for a double sale are particularly exciting.

Liverpool in Napoli talks

La Repubblica claims Liverpool and Napoli are in talks over a double deal. The Italian champions hope to sign both Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa this summer.

Now, Liverpool are certainly open to selling both. Neither managed to force their way into Slot's best XI last season and over the last few months, we didn't really see them.

It simply makes sense for Liverpool to sell, as beloved as the pair are. Especially with Napoli so eager to sign them.

But the bigger thing here is that Liverpool do have major plans to sign more forwards. In fact, they're supposedly looking at both the left-wing and striker roles ahead of next season, if reports are to be believed.

So shipping off both Nunez and Chiesa at the same time both speeds things up and sorts out some decisions. Liverpool would have the money needed to splash cash particularly up top, where an elite striker would make a massive difference to Slot's team.

Expect this one to gain some serious traction. It truly feels like the best outcome for everyone involved - as long as Napoli are willing to put up the money to make it worth Liverpool's while.
