Liverpool to pay €130m for SUPERSTAR Salah successor
One of Liverpool’s key transfer priorities next summer will be sourcing a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian King is under contract until 2027 but there is a chance that sporting director Richard Hughes accepts an offer for him next summer.
Salah is facing an exhausting schedule before the start of the 2026/27 campaign - including a full programme for his club as well as two international tournaments for Egypt.
He turns 34 next summer and it remains to be seen whether he stays as a key player under Arne Slot.
Liverpool could offload Salah
Earning around £400k per week, Liverpool may take the opportunity to offload Salah to Saudi Arabia if his form doesn’t turn around.
And one of the top candidates to replace him right now is Michael Olise.
It’s no exaggeration to say the Bayern Munich playmaker has been one of the best players in the world this season. At the weekend he scored twice and made three assists in Bayern’s 6-2 Bundesliga win over SC Freiburg.
The 23-year-old has got nine goals and 10 assists in only 18 matches for Vincent Kompany’s side this term and would be the perfect candidate to arrive in place of Salah.
Liverpool want superstar Olise
The France international - described as a “superstar” by Kompany earlier this season - is under contract until 2029 and Bayern would dearly love to extend it and offer him a pay rise.
Olise’s rise has been unimpeded since leaving Crystal Palace for the Allianz Arena in 2024 for only £53m and Liverpool are hoping he will make a quick return to the Premier League.
According to a report in Caught Offside, Bayern could well listen to a bid of between €130m and €140m for their superstar attacker - who is now No1 on Liverpool’s list to succeed Salah.
Liverpool need another attacking shakeup
“Liverpool have a strong interest in an ambitious potential transfer move for Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise to replace Mohamed Salah,” the report reads.
Although Liverpool made several changes to their attacking lineup last summer - bringing in Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Jeremie Frimpong and Alexander Isak - it’s yet to have the desired effect.
Bringing in a Premier League-proven talent who is currently operating at the very top of his game would be a sensational move.
