€70m Liverpool star is a SURPRISE candidate to replace Luis Diaz
Luis Diaz could leave Liverpool this summer and the Reds could replace him with one of their own.
Things are changing at Anfield. As we exclusively revealed Richard Hughes is planning a major overhaul in attack. This will not only see new faces come in but a fair few depart as well.

Among them, Diaz is the most likely alongside Darwin Nunez to move onto pastures new.
The Colombian is attracting interest from European sides like Barcelona as well as Saudi Arabia. He's seeking a big contract entering the prime of his career at 28-years-old and it's just not something Liverpool look like they are willing to do.
That's why a move away with Diaz only having two years left on his current deal makes sense.
But if he departs, Liverpool will have to pose the question of who exactly will replace him on the left flank. Sure, Liverpool have Cody Gakpo but him and Diaz have been rotating all season, so ideally Liverpool will need to bring in extra competition for the Dutchman.
Or will they?
There is a way Liverpool won't have to spend a single penny and it involves changing the role of one of the club's key stars.
With Florian Wirtz expected to arrive at Anfield, Dominik Szoboszlai will now have direct competition for the no.10 role. Fortunately, for the Hungarian he can play pretty much anywhere.
Many have suggested he could drop deeper but there is another world where the Reds no.8 who Anfield Watch understands arrived from RB Leipzig for €70m could be used in another position.
Arne Slot could easily convert him into a left-sided midfielder or winger. Szoboszlai has played this position multiple times in the past.
He was a left-sided attacker at RB Leizpig and Red Bull Salzburg as well.
And he was pretty effective in the role. For RB Leipzig he averaged 0.81 goal contributions per 90 minutes while playing as a left-sided attacker.
Meanwhile, for Red Bull Salzburg he averaged 0.80 goal contributions per 90 playing in the same role.
For context, Diaz averaged 0.64 goal contributions per 90 for Liverpool while playing as a left-winger this season.
On paper, it makes sense to play Szoboszlai out wide. He's got a brilliant crossing ability and he can cut in from the left side onto his right foot to unleash his formidable shots on goal.
He's relatively quick as well and averaged over five dribble attempts while playing for RB Leipzig and Salzburg on the left side - so he can take players on.
Moving him there with his Hungarian teammate Milos Kerkez potentially coming in as well would make this move even more sense.
The two of them have a brilliant connection on and off the pitch and could flourish as a duo on Liverpool's left flank.

Last summer Slot converted Ryan Gravenberch into a holding midfielder. Perhaps this summer he could convert Szoboszlai into a left-winger and pull off another masterstroke.
