Liverpool are set for an attacking reset in the summer transfer window. With Mohamed Salah now signed up to a contract until 2027, work is going on in order to upgrade the options around him in the Reds’ frontline.

Liverpool admire several players in the centre-forward position - with Alexander Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Joao Pedro among those under consideration.

And on the wings there has been talk about Bryan Mbeumo, Anthony Gordon and Takefusa Kubo and others. But if Liverpool are to get the attackers they want at the club, outgoings will be a necessity.

EXCLUSIVE: Richard Hughes targets TWO Serie A stars for Liverpool

Buyers will need to be sourced for Liverpool’s current options - with plenty of stars seeing their futures at the club come under threat.

Federico Chiesa has long been linked with a return to Serie A while Tottenham are now thought to be in the running for the Italian.

Diogo Jota, meanwhile, hasn’t been able to win over Arne Slot due to frequent injuries and his touch in front of goal appears to have deserted him too.

But the biggest question marks have been reserved for Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz albeit for very different reasons.

Al-Hilal to make offers for Nunez and Diaz

Nunez, 25, is living his last days as a Liverpool player following his move from Benfica in 2022. The Uruguay international has not lived up to expectations - starting in the Premier League only once in 2025 and scoring only five league goals this season.

Sporting director Richard Hughes WILL listen to offers for Nunez this summer, whose contract runs until 2028. Given Liverpool paid £85m for the No9, it’s going to take a sizeable bid to prise him out of Anfield.

But now, according to Caught Offside, Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia are preparing to do just that. The SPL giants are not going to stop there, according to the same report, because they want Diaz too.

The Colombia international, 28, is out of contract in just two years - with his terms expiring in 2027. If no new deal is reached then Liverpool will be forced into a sale sooner rather than later.

Although Liverpool don’t want to sell Diaz - and the player is open to a new deal - the two parties appear far apart currently in their valuations of a new contract.

Newcastle and Atletico want Nunez at a discount

“Both Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz are being targeted by Al Hilal,” the report states. “Nunez is available this summer as Liverpool plan to cash in on him and sign a new striker, with the Uruguay international valued at around €80m.

“Arne Slot would rather not sell Diaz, but the club’s stance is that a bid in the region of €80m could also be enough for them to consider a sale.”

Despite his poor output in front of goal, Nunez is known to retain suitors across Europe. Fenerbahce and AC Milan are among the teams linked with the forward and the Caught Offside report names two other interested teams.

“The former Benfica man has admirers in Saudi Arabia, as well as in the form of Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid, in what can only be seen as positive Liverpool news as they look to offload this under-performing player,” it says.

“However, it is currently understood that Liverpool’s €80m asking price would have to come down for those clubs to enter into any formal negotiations.”

Liverpool will be hoping to cash in for top dollar on Nunez in the form of the Saudi bid, making most of their record £85m fee back for a player who hasn’t made the grade.

Earning €160m on these two would mean a timely cash boost for Hughes and Slot as they plan their next moves in the summer transfer window.
