Liverpool signed £450m worth of new talent in the summer transfer window.

Among the new arrivals were attackers in the shape of Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike and British record signing Alexander Isak.

But there are indications that sporting director Richard Hughes is still not happy with the strike line - and more additions could be made soon.

Liverpool may think for example that a replacement player for Mohamed Salah is a possibility for 2026 - while an upgrade on Cody Gakpo for left wing could also be considered.

We’ve seen links to Michael Olise and Antoine Semenyo but now there is momentum gathering around the fate of another young Reds’ target.

Liverpool linked with move for Kenan Yildiz

Kenan Yildiz, 20, has been at Juventus since 2023 - joining from Bayern Munich’s youth ranks. A full Turkish international, Yildiz is most at home on the left wing but can also play as No10.

He is the brightest prospect Juve have got currently - but given his rapid rise the Italian giants may be soon running into a spot of contract bother with the German-born playmaker.

Yildiz is under contract until 2029 and Juve would like to secure his future further and offer him a pay rise. But the player’s demands currently exceed what the Serie A side are able to pay.

Therefore if no agreement is reached then the club may have to consider selling in order to avoid losing him on a free at a peak age.

According to Chelsea insider Simon Phillips, the Blues will be right there for his signature - but he also adds that Liverpool have been in touch regarding Yildiz’s availability.

Liverpool among big clubs calling for Kenan Yildiz

“Kenan Yildiz of Juventus is in a bit of a contract stand off with his club at the moment, and as a result, many other clubs are sniffing around,” he writes.

“Yildiz has been tracked by Chelsea for a couple of transfer windows now and they even tried to sign him in the summer. At that time, the deal was not possible because Juventus held firm and had no intentions of selling the 20-year-old Turkish international.

“But now, with his current contract situation, Chelsea are back in the mix for Yildiz and are one of the clubs who have made fresh contact to seek out the situation.

“Juventus do not want to pay what the players reps are asking, his current deal does run until 2029. So the ball stays in the Italian club’s court for now.

“But Juventus have budget restraints, and with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Liverpool, and other big clubs calling about Yildiz right now, they may well be forced to sell the player if he does not agree to a new deal.

“By the way, contract talks have stalled and not stopped. There is a chance that they can still come to an agreement. But Chelsea are certainly one of the clubs watching this situation closely.”

This season Yildiz has scored three goals and added four assists across 14 matches in total for Juve. He has been in very good form for his country too - playing excellently in the recent international game for Turkey versus Bulgaria.
