Improve a lot, too.

They immediately showed that by wasting no time to rejuvenate their full-back positions. Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong are now here to play major roles.

Florian Wirtz, however, is the big one. He’s one of the world’s standout talents - the most expensive transfer in Liverpool’s history and arguably the biggest.

Liverpool haven’t ever signed a player with that kind of reputation before. But they believe Wirtz isn’t the only enormous talent joining the club this summer.

Liverpool love Hugo Ekitike

Liverpool are now fully expected to seal a deal for Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. The deal won't be a cheap one - around €91m.

And per ESPN, it's easy to see why the Reds have decided to spend that kind of cash. They say Liverpool believe Ekitike has the potential to be one of the very best striker's in Europe.

It's an undoubted phrase, of course - best in Europe means best in the world. That's the level Ekitike boasts as an all-around goal threat who has the versatility to frighten teams from all kind of positions.

He's still only 23, after all. Ekitike is a player who can lead the line or play a secondary role to star teammates, while there are clear areas for improvement.

The forward failed to finish consistently last season, for instance. He was considerably below his xG - 6.6 goals below.

That's a massive number and by far the worst of Ekitike's career. Simply getting that number up to 'average' would be an enormous jump in his ability because let's not forget, he still scored 15 times in the Bundesliga last season.

Ekitike is already a fantastic striker and one who can be a regular for Liverpool. The fact he has that clear room for improvement is why the Reds are paying a fortune.

If he does get that finishing jump, he's going to be one of the best on the planet. Liverpool certainly believe so.

Rest in peace, Diogo Jota.
