Florian Wirtz takes MAJOR step towards Liverpool transfer
Florian Wirtz has reportedly taken a major step towards a move to Liverpool. The Reds might just get this transfer over the line.
Liverpool are firmly involved in what’s becoming a fierce race to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The German playmaker is expected to move either this summer or in 2026.

It was though, however, that he was destined for Bayern Munich. Reports broke in April that there was an agreement to make that move - but then everything changed.
Now Liverpool are pushing hard to sign one of the biggest talents in world football. Wirtz has been an absolute revelation since breaking into the senior setup at Leverkusen, generating a price tag over £100m.
Liverpool are, seemingly, happy to pay that. Bayern might not be, and their primary tactic to sign Wirtz appears to have been an apparent exclusivity for elite German talents.
That’s now getting challenged by Liverpool, who are forcing that asking price into the stratosphere and to a level Bayern can’t really afford. It may well make all the difference, especially after the English champions’ talks with Wirtz last week.
And now the 22-year-old has taken a step towards a Liverpool transfer.

Wirtz goes house-hunting
Bild journalist Christian Falk claims he’s heard that Florian Wirtz has been house-hunting in Liverpool. This is ahead of a possible move to Anfield, of course.
“Bayern Munich still believe they have the Wirtz family’s word that he will join Bayern in 2025 or 2026,” he exclusively told CF Bayern Insider.
“But now, there is a bit of fear inside the club around Liverpool, because they didn’t think that the Reds would commit to the transfer fee, as it’s a lot of money. They had an idea a couple of summers ago for Moises Caicedo (with a £111m bid), but this didn’t work out.
“We heard that Florian was already househunting in Liverpool. The family is playing this transfer game quite openly; they’re telling Bayern what they’re doing with Liverpool, and they’re telling Liverpool what they’re doing with Bayern Munich.”
It’s a fantastic sign for Liverpool that Wirtz is taking it all quite this seriously. The Reds have been in talks with superstars before, of course, and superstars they ultimately didn’t sign.

But the likes of Kylian Mbappe never got anywhere near looking at potential houses on Merseyside. Wirtz is busy envisioning life at Liverpool - and that’s a major step towards a transfer.
