Liverpool ACCELERATE biggest transfer in Premier League history
Liverpool are pushing to complete the biggest transfer in Premier League history. The Reds are making waves.
Liverpool appear to be favourites to land Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. The Reds are somewhat surprising favourites, admittedly, as no one even had them in the race a few weeks ago.

It was felt to be certain that Wirtz would be off to Bayern Munich, as is a rite of passage for German stars. The only competition there was Manchester City as they continued their hunt for Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement.
But then came Liverpool. Out of absolutely nowhere, the Reds were suddenly in the mix and had ‘hope’ of getting a deal done.
It wasn’t supposed to be anymore than that.
Now, though, Liverpool are viewed as the favourites to land Wirtz, with Bayern moving on to new targets and City bowing out of the race. Here’s the latest.

Liverpool accelerate Florian Wirtz move
Kicker claims that Liverpool are now ‘accelerating’ their move for Wirtz. They actually understand that the player gave the Reds the green light around 12 days ago - it’s just taken a little while to become public.
Now it firmly is, though, and Liverpool want to make sure this is done ASAP. That’s not just because it makes sense to, either.
They’re naturally a little worried of things changing. Kicker argues that Real Madrid is really the only potential entrant to race that could change things.
They’ve just announced Xabi Alonso as their new head coach, after all. That’s quite a lot of pull.
Liverpool, then, just want to get this over with. Kicker says it was always unlikely that things were absolutely sealed over the weekend but next week? Very possible.
The Reds’ season would be completely over and the focus will entirely shift to transfers. They’ll then look to seal a new record transfer for not just Liverpool but all of English football.
Liverpool have broken the English transfer record a couple of times, most recently for Stan Collymore in 1995. They did so before then with Dean Saunders in 1991, too, but neither transfer lived up to the hype.
Peter Beardsley joined Liverpool in 1987 for an English transfer record and went a lot further towards meeting expectations. The real standout, though, is Kenny Dalglish, signed in 1977 in a record transfer and going on to be arguably the greatest Anfield has ever seen.
